Course Title: Movement Analysis and Handling for Therapy Assistants.

Course Tutors: Funeeza Hussain and Alison Edmonds- Nicholson


Course Description: This two-day course is designed for physiotherapy/OT and rehabilitation assistants to introduce and explore the principles of movement analysis and facilitation. The course will use lectures, practical sessions and video to apply the theory, movement analysis and practise handling skills.

Course Aims: Following the course, participants will demonstrate

  • Developed knowledge and analysis skills in relation to movement between and within postures, balance, postural control and walking.
  • Improved handling skills to optimise a patients function.
  • Increased ability to understand tone, and the use of positioning and handling to effect this in a positive way.


Who is course Suitable for: Physiotherapy, Occupational therapy and Rehabilitation Assistants working with patients with neurological conditions.

Requirements: No prerequisite course needs to be completed.

Cost: £150, including lunch on Saturday and Sunday.
