Katie Sutton Bsc(Hons) MCSP
Katie qualified in Bsc(Hons) Physiotherapy from the University of the West of England in 2004. Following qualification she took up employment as a junior rotational physiotherapist at Gloucester Royal Hospital.
After 18 months she started to specialise in Stroke and Traumatic Head Injury working in the acute and outpatient setting both at Gloucester Royal Hospital and Frenchay Hospital in Bristol.
Katie specialised in Acquired Brain Injury in 2009 working for the Gloucestershire Brain Injury Team to provide a seamless service across the county between acute inpatients, community rehabilitation and within the outpatient setting. She maintained this specialism for 4 years, prior to moving to the Manchester Neurotherapy Centre in July 2013.
In addition to her clinical work, Katie was involved with many projects at Gloucester including, facilitating a carers and family support day for relatives, study days for allied health professionals, GP’s, and Care staff on the management of Brain Injury and work based learning programmes for junior and students.
Katie has completed her three week Basic Bobath Course, and an Advanced Bobath course.
Alongside an Msc Module on Sensorimotor control in function, Katie has completed short courses on Cerebellar Ataxia, Balance Rehabilitation and Vestibular Rehabilitation.
Katie has a keen interest in teaching and furthering her development within the Bobath Concept and looks forward to completing another Msc Module in the near future.
