Claudio Bellani BSc (Hons) MCSP
Claudio is a very passionate physiotherapist with over 11-years experience in neuro-rehabilitation.
He has always had a keen interest in treating patients with neurological impairments since Uni, having been supervised by a Bobath tutor during clinical placements. He qualified from the University of Milan, Italy in 2008 and started working for the Italian health system in a large Milan hospital (Ospedale Maggiore Policlinico) in 2009.
He specialised in Neurology, Neurosurgery and Neuro Intensive Care, which allowed him to work with a wide range of complex patients with varied conditions, both within an acute and a more long-standing stage of recovery. He then specialised in Stroke and worked as a clinical lead in the Stroke Unit, being also responsible for the provision and development of the physio service.
Since joining Manchester Neurotherapy Centre in 2018 he has deepened his clinical and reasoning skills, working alongside a highly specialised team.
As well as clinical work he has been involved in leading in-service training sessions and as a clinical supervisor to students and junior physiotherapists.
Claudio has completed the Basic Bobath Course, several Advanced courses and short courses.
He is creative, dedicated and recognises that neurological pathology affects the whole individual. He strongly believes in a holistic approach that takes into consideration the patients’ own expectations, personal factors/family, environment and he is eager to make his patients active contributors to their own recovery process and potential.
Claudio is training to be an International Bobath Instructor. There are currently only 140 instructors worldwide and only 40 in training, 6 of which are in the UK.
