Stuart (Acquired Brain Injury)

On 9th December 2005 I was involved in a road traffic accident and sustained a serious brain injury resulting in the paralysis of my right side. After 6 months in hospital I was discharged and had regular physiotherapy as an outpatient at Leicester General. In September 06, although the physios there felt I was capable of further improvements they also felt that they had reached the limit of their expertise.

In December 2006, although, very sceptical, I came to the Manchester Neurotherapy Centre and had an initial assessment with Lynne Fletcher. At this session Lynne facilitated improvements that I had been striving towards for weeks. I immediately realised that to make maximum recovery I needed to work with Lynne and her team.

Since then I have been travelling from Leicester to Manchester in order to attend every 3 weeks, for 4 days at a time. Before attending Manchester Neurotherapy Centre I was struggling to walk and felt very unstable. I now feel much more confident and am walking almost normally, I am even beginning to run a few steps, which previously would have appeared impossible to me.

The improvements that I have made, and continue to make, are due to my hard work and that of Lynne and her team together with their dedication and remarkable expertise.

Thank You.
