Stephen (Brain Haemorrhage)

I have been attending the Manchester Neurotherapy Centre for about 2 and a half years after suffering a massive sub-arachnoid double brain haemorrhage 10 years ago when I was just 19 years old. I was in a coma for 3 months and the medical staff had given my chances of survival as virtually nil.

I was in different hospitals for 2 years and at a rehab unit at Withington Hospital for 18 months.

Whilst in hospital, I was not getting regular physiotherapy which the neurosurgeon said I should be receiving, but the rather tedius stretching exercises that did not do much use for my situation. My skeleton was left twisted due to a lack of attention.

It was not until some time later that we received information regarding the Manchester Neurotherapy Centre from another physio who said that they were very good.

When I went there, the staff were all very friendly and also very helpful and I can honestly say that they are the best physiotherapists that I have ever had and they make me work very hard and I thoroughly enjoy my sessions which for me lasts for one and a half hours.

The equipment is very good and privacy is well catered for as curtains can be drawn for each cubicle. I have an extremely enjoyable session each and every time but it is hard work which I enjoy immensely due to the fact that before my illness I was very keen on all types of sporting activity.

Now, the physio staff are helping to realign my skeleton as well as helping my general posture and physical strength for which I am very grateful.
