I am 59 years old and I had a stroke on 29th of February of the present year that affected the left side of my body.
After three months in a hospital, where I could recover the movements of my leg, I began treatments in a clinic under Bobath concept.
The therapists of this clinic learned Bobath method with therapists of Manchester Neurotherapy Centre (MNC) - Lynne Fletcher and Linzi Meadows, and when I asked them about what would be the best for me they suggested that I should be treated in MNC.
After some research in the Internet, where I could confirm the Curriculum Vitae of the Bobath Concept's Tutors in all the United Kingdom, I decided to contact MNC and arranged to be treat by Lynne, Linzi and their staff during three weeks in the last August.
I was very welcomed and very well cared during all the time I was at MNC.
I could prove the skills of everyone and the professionalism of the therapists, especially how they explained everything to me, using simple words that I could perfectly understand.
During these three weeks the treatments were focus on my posture. The therapist worked in my shoulder, elbow and wrist. They were worried to isolate my movements so I could only use the correct part of my arm and its correct muscles. Simultaneously they recorded the most important parts of the treatments, in order to bring a DVD back with me to Portugal so I could continue them here.
The main purpose of these treatments was to release the tensions in my arm in order to allow me begin the treatments in my hand and I think that they were successful.
When I finished the treatments in MNC I thought to myself that I was ready to begin the recovery of my arm and therefore my hand.
For all these reasons I would like to leave registed my sincerely thanks to the MNC, Centre that I recommend to everyone that has suffered from the same sickness.
